What is Youth Ministry

Christ Church of Atlanta has made Youth Ministry a priority because it values the lives of its children! There are many ways for your teenagers and pre-teenagers to be involved through programs from Sunday School to separate male and female programs. The ministries are vibrant and life-transforming and your children will be blown away when they come to one of our groups. We look forward to seeing your teenagers be transformed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Sunday Morning Bible Studies: The Sunday morning youth meetings are centered around the teaching of the Word of God in an interactive and interesting way, equipping the students for the challenges of teenage life. The High School group works through books of the Bible and determine how it applies to them today. We also use discipleship curriculums to take them to new depths in their faith. The Middle School group studies the Bible through creative ways like object lessons, skits, and video clips. Each one of these ways is to help the students to remember the message of the Scripture for that day. It will help each one of the students to grow in their faith while having fun. There is no better way for students to learn!

Kairos Discipleship Ministry for Guys and Girls

Kairos Discipleship Ministry is a vibrant ministry to teenagers challenging them to grow into "Godly Adults and Godly Leaders" through ministry, service and fellowship. Every week, through three age-specific meetings, we currently involve 100 - 125 guys and girls in Bible study, worship, and fellowship. Kairos challenges our teenagers to be active and sincere in their faith and service to the world. Our hope is that they will impact their world for the rest of their lives!

Monday Night Kairos for High School Guys and Girls: This is the cornerstone of the Kairos Ministry, bringing together high school students from around the Atlanta area to worship, study the Bible and fellowship with the goal of becoming godly adults and godly leaders. Monday is a powerful night with passionate worship of our triune God, honest prayers and a challenging teaching from the Scriptures. The students are challenged to live through God’s strength and pushed to share the love of God through their words and actions. Guy and Girls meet separately and dinner is provided. We meet in the TRIBE Room at Mount Paran Church of God (2055 Mount Paran Road Atlanta, GA 30327-2921). Contact David Charney for more information.

Wednesday Night Kairos for Middle School Guys and Girls: This early evening meeting is the most energetic of the Kairos Ministry, bringing together middle school students at various homes for the purpose of Bible study. Dinner is shared and then students are engaged in lively discussion centering around how they can live their life more effectively for Jesus and towards their classmates. Guys and girls meet separately. Contact Heather Werle for more information and meeting locations.

Ultimate Frisbee for High School (Kairos and Kairos for Girls) will resume for the summer on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 PM-8:15 PM beginning June 1. Bring a friend and lots of energy. We will meet at the Westminster practice fields. Contact David Charney for more information.

Our two latest service projects were both work days – one in concert with Resource Service Ministries in downtown Atlanta and the other on behalf of the World Children’s Center in Tallapoosa.

This year’s high school mission trip is to Cranks Creek, Kentucky during the last week of July. Our middle school event, also in July, will be the Great Escape, organized by Youth Conference Ministries. Contact Heather Werle for more information.
